Art was recently preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Shoultes. He loved spending time with her and traveling together. His family also included his grandchildren: KaitLynn, Haley, Audrey and Elley Shoultes, Avery Shoultes and Truman Cleveland, and his great-grandchildren: Brooklynn, Maverick, and Madden. Art had a very close-knit family which included his siblings: Jan Torrey, Harvey “Butch” (Lisa) Shoultes, Kathleen Gailey, Larry Shoultes, Carol (Wayne Kuzbiel) Shoultes, Sharon (Chris) Fisk, and many nieces and nephews.

Art graduated from Standish High School in 1969, he then went on to enlist in the United States Army and served for 2 years. Afterwards, he worked and retired from Saginaw Delphi Steering System in 2001.
Throughout his life, Art loved sports, shooting pool, hunting, fishing, and horseshoes. He especially loved baseball. His team was the Tigers. In his younger years, he played ball in local leagues. In recent years, he could be seen at every game or activity his granddaughters were involved in, and even in many they were not, supporting his high school teams. He coached girls’ softball in his later years with his son, Steve and loved the Riverdawgs teams. He would also do the stats and offered advice. He went 4 times to the World Series for girls’ softball for 2 of his granddaughters, and enjoyed every minute of it. You could find him challenging anyone to a game of pool. His real obsession was hunting and fishing. He loved to hunt his property with his son, Matt and get up to the UP with the guys to hunt and have a good time at deer camp. He was one of the original founders of the Polish Hilton Deer Camp in Kinross, MI. He would get out to ice fish whenever he could. Everyone who had heard of Bentley, had heard of Art Shoultes, most times the two names were synonymous. His friends were innumerable, and he seemed to know everyone.
