Arlene M. Fryzel

Arlene M. Fryzel

Arlene M. Fryzel, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, at Red Oaks Adult Foster Care in Bay City, Michigan, with her loving husband by her side.
Born on April 26, 1943, in Fraser Township, Arlene was the cherished daughter of the late Oliver and Marie (Kiesel) Pomaville. Her life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, her faith, and the community that she nurtured with her gentle spirit. Arlene’s journey began with her marriage to the love of her life, Richard Fryzel, on April 25, 1964, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Linwood. Their union was a testament to enduring love, celebrating 60 years of marriage filled with shared dreams and cherished moments.
Together, they built a family foundation of love and respect, which is carried on by their children, Gary (Judy) Fryzel and Dennis Fryzel; and further brightened by the joy of their grandchildren, Michelle (Nathan) Stevick, Heather (Kirt) Zalucha, Jared Fryzel, and Cody (McKayla) Fryzel. Arlene’s legacy is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Shirley Dowd, and her brother-in-laws Larry, Eugene (Val), Leonard, Raymond, and Johnny (Kathy) Fryzel. Her life was enriched by the laughter and love of numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren, who will continue to be inspired by her example. Arlene was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Janet Fryzel, and her niece, Julie Friday, both of whom she held dear in her heart.

Throughout her life, Arlene was a pillar of her community, dedicating herself to the service of others. She was a faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Mary’s, and, following its closing, Holy Trinity. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her active participation in the St. Anne Altar Society, where she supported her church through various initiatives, especially enjoying the camaraderie and purpose found in organizing bake sales.

Arlene’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family and church community. She was a dedicated wife and mother, who took immense pride in raising her children and supporting her husband. Her home was always a welcoming haven, filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods and the warmth of her loving presence.

Travel was another of Arlene’s passions. Alongside her husband and friends, she explored numerous locations, creating a tapestry of memories from their adventures. They were blessed to have visited the majestic Vatican, among other beautiful destinations, which added depth and joy to their shared experiences.

Above all, Arlene loved her family unconditionally, spoiling her grandchildren and cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Her life was a testament to the virtues of being loving, thoughtful, and faith filled. These words not only describe Arlene but also embody the profound impact she had on everyone she encountered.
