Charles A. Arndt

Charles Alfred Arndt, 71 of Rhodes, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 11, 2021, at the MidMichigan Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born January 4, 1950, in Gladwin County, son of Alfred Arndt and the late Ethel Mae (Carmen) Arndt. Charles attended and graduated from Pinconning High School and went to work for Northern Tube. He retired from Northern Tube in his early 50’s after 40 years of service. On August 11, 1973, he married the former Pauline Elaine Terry in Midland.

Charles loved watching softball and being at the ballpark. He enjoyed being involved in his daughter’s sporting events and later the sporting events of his grandchildren. Charles loved spending time with his family and friends. He was the foundation of their family and was always willing to lend a helping hand or challenge them to a game of cards.

He is survived by his wife Pauline of Rhodes; daughter Jennifer (Craig) Millbauer of Freeland, grandchildren Morgan Arndt and Alexander Rutkowski. Charles is also survived by his father Alfred Arndt and sisters: Carolyn Moulton of Merrill, Barbara Arndt of Midland, Brenda Pater of Coleman, and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Charles will take place 11 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Pastor Lowell Gisel will officiate with interment to follow in Midland Cemetery. Charles’ family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
