Emily Judith DeSimpelaere

Judie (Staley) DeSimpelaere, age 84, of Linwood, formerly of Omer, MI, passed away on August 9th, 2024. She was born on July 27th, 1940, in Omer, Michigan; the daughter of Hugh Staley and Eva Staley. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Judie enjoyed many things including music, gardening, watching wildlife, having a hot cup of coffee, and of course a good book. Judie loved documenting her thoughts, observations, and feelings in journals, she had a poet’s soul. Judie was loved and respected by many family & friends. Judie was very involved with her AA family which brought much peace and fulfillment. A prayer that asks for the serenity to accept things that can’t be changed, the courage to change things that can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Judie was always very thoughtful, caring, compassionate and full of helpful advice and words of wisdom.
Judie is survived by her husband Oscar DeSimpelaere, her daughter Eva DeSimpelaere, her son Vic (Joy) DeSimpelaere, children Willie and Dawn DeSimpelaere, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh (Eva) Staley, her sister Patricia Staley Dufort, her daughter Lolly (Rooker) DeSimpelaere, and her grandson Josh Aikens.
A memorial service will be held at Lee Ramsay Funeral Home-Pinconning Chapel, on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 12:00 pm,with Rev. Dusty Ballard presiding, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Omer.
