Florence M. Billingsley

Florence M. Billingsley, age 99, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born on June 10, 1923, in Fraser Township to the late George & Josephine (Trombley) Wilson. A resident of the Pinconning area her entire life, graduating from St. Michael’s Catholic School with the class of 1942, and remaining a lifetime member of St. Mike’s Church. She married Donald Billingsley on November 6,1943, and they enjoyed 68 years together farming their land and raising their family. They enjoyed polka dancing and playing cards before his passing in 2011.

Florence enjoyed canning and cooking and was famous for her great dill pickles and excellent rhubarb pie. Her favorite pastime was making beautiful handmade knitted and crocheted items for her family and friends. She is survived by 3 sons; Ken, Dale (Bev), and Richard (Jodi Miles) Billingsley, her daughter; LuAnn (John) Roper. Nine grandchildren; Denise Billingsley, Mark (Nancy) Billingsley, Dionne (Jay) Beelman, Gary (Dianna) Roper, Marla (Brian) Kennedy, Robyn (John) Clemens, Brad (Teresa) Billingsley, Scott Billingsley, and Stacy (Jake) Kolka. Twenty-one great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters-in-law, Charlotte Billingsley, and Arlene Madison; many nieces, nephews, as well as several wonderful neighbors, and friends. Florence was predeceased by a son, Robert Billingsley; daughter-in-law, Barb; great-grandson, Nathaniel; 7 brothers, and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Holy Trinity - St. Michael’s Church, with Rev. Fr. Matt Federico presiding. Family and friends may visit at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home - Pinconning Chapel on Thursday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 pm. On Friday friends and family may visit at the Church from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Michael’s School in Florence’s honor.
