Gerald Edward Resmer
Gerald age 89 loving father, brother and grandpa passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Auburn Fields Assisted Living. He was born on February 21, 1932 in Kawkawlin Township to the late Edward & Anna (Golombek) Resmer. He married the love of his life Patricia (Piesik) on February 5, 1955 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. She predeceased him on February 21, 1996. Together they celebrated 41 years of marriage. He was a life time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, then Holy Trinity. He was a proud self-employed farmer loving every aspect of farming, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino and taking family drives. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his children; Gerald Jr. (Karen) Resmer, Cynthia (Rick) Schumann, Timothy (Pat Skuta) Resmer, Diane (Kurt Jr.) Kleinhans and Robinette (Tim) Rezler, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, sisters Janet (Frank) Whitley, JoAnn (Tom) Kraut, Paul Resmer and sister-in-law Judie Resmer as well as several nieces and nephews and a lifetime friend Eugene Goss. He was predeceased by his loving wife, a brother Mike Resmer, an infant brother Peter and an infant sister Diane lifetime friend Joan Foco and several brother and sister in laws.
Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10 am from Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Kevin Maksym presiding with burial in St. Mary’s Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 2 to 8 pm. On Wednesday, a Prayer Vigil will be held at 7 pm. On Thursday, friends may arrive at the church from 9:45 am until time of mass.
