Jim D. McGillen

Jim D. McGillen, age 79, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Bay Shores Nursing Home. He was born in Bay County, Michigan on May 8, 1945, to the late William & Marie (Dorian) McGillen. He worked at Valley Pool, owned Jim’s Trading Post, enjoyed trips to the casino, and time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by 9 brothers & sisters: Junior (Connie) McGillen, Betty (Alan) Thorson, June (Roger) Cruthers, Donna Hearn, Janet (Dale) Schwerin, Eilleen (William) Roberts, Gerald McGillen, Norman McGillen, many nieces, nephews, and special friend Dennie VanDen Boom. He was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph, Lorraine, Donald, Rose, Richard, Shirley, Ronald, William, Mary Jane, and Barbara.

To honor Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
