Marva Jean Jonas
Marva Passed away on August 28, 2023, at Eden Fields Assisted Living in Standish, MI. She was born on October 17, 1940, in Bay City, Michigan to the late William and Elsie (Felske) Schoof. She graduated from Bay City Central in 1958. She met William (Bill) Jonas, the love of her life, at a high school dance. They married on August 13, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran Church. They Moved from Munger, Michigan to Pinconning, Michigan in 1961 where they established Jonas Farms, then became members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pinconning. Marva lived life to the fullest. Whether she was doing the polka or a waltz with her husband, working in her flower beds, bowling, riding snowmobiles and Harley’s, deer hunting at their cabin up north (which she holds the record for the biggest buck taken to date), relaxing on the deck at their home in Florida or spending time with family and friends, you can bet at some point she would start singing “In heaven there is no beer”. Marva loved with her whole heart and had the kindest soul but what made her stand out in a crowd was her beautiful smile. She will always be remembered for her love, her laughter, and that smile.
She is survived by her husband William. Their two children; David (Mary) Jonas and Julie (Ken) Payea. Seven grandchildren; Stephanie (Tim) Sleeman, Logan Jonas (Molly), Jodi Christian (Andrew), Justin (Kelli) Hill, Kayla Payea (Victor), Jailynn Payea, and Marissa Payea. Eight great-grandchildren; Belle, Ethan, Rickilynn, Grace, Ivylynn, Luke, Oliver, and Dahlia. She was preceded in death by two children, Jean Marie and Cindy Lee Jonas, grandson Ricky Christian, great-grandchild Ezekiel, and two sisters, Shirley Bittner, and Marjie Rouech.
