Mary Esther “Maudie” Rifenbark

Mrs. Rifenbark 100 passed away Wednesday December 28, 2022, at Ascension Long-term Care Facility in Standish with her family at her side. She was born in Pinconning on December 11, 1922, to the late William & Beatrice (Grantham) Hawkins. She married Howard Rifenbark on November 1, 1941, he preceded her in death on September 8, 1988, and then she married Wallace Rifenbark on December 11, 1990, and he preceded her in death on August 7, 2014. Esther was a retired bus driver form the Pinconning Area School District. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, morel picking in the spring, camping, building stone bird houses & figurines. Her greatest joy and pleasure were being with her family and sharing time with them.

She is survived by her children Janice Pierson, Dan & Karen Rifenbark, Nancy (Keith Mallory) Pickvet, and Rick & Sandy Rifenbark; grandchildren Connie, Chris, Jodi, Brent, Bryan, Scott, Rodney, and Lynn; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson Marty, 2 sons-in-law Lenny Pickvet and Robert “Bob” Pierson, and her siblings Margaret Flynn, Edward Hawkins and LaVern Hawkins.

Funeral Services were held Friday December 30, 2022, at 11 am from Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-PINCONNING CHAPEL with Pastor Charles Campbell presiding with burial in Woodmere Cemetery, Standish. Family greeted family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 8 pm and Friday from 10 am until time of services. The family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to the Ascension Long-term Care Facility staff for the wonderful & loving care given to their mom during her stay with them.
