Richard S. “Dick” Gromaski

Dick, age 76, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away in his happy place in Bradenton, Florida with his family by his side on December 29, 2021. He was born on March 31, 1944 in Auburn, Michigan to the late Stephen & Mary (Svonavies) Gromaski. He married the love of his life Gail LaForest on October 3, 1964 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Pinconning. Dick enjoyed being active in his community as well as serving on several committees such as Fraser Township Supervisor, Bay Arenac Behavioral Health and the Bay County Road Commission for 12 years. Dick owned and operated Dick’s Super Service and Botzau’s Market for numerous years. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren whenever possible but only until 7 p.m. that was PJ time. Surviving besides his wife of 56 years are their children; 2 daughters Kimberly (Lonnie) Foco and Colleen (Ron) Jablonski, son in law Jim Cnudde, two brothers, and two sisters; George (Norma) Gromaski, Barbara (John) Russell, Dorothy (Bob) Kissane and Robert (Kathy) Gromaski, several nieces and nephews, special friends Dick & Shirley Worth and family. He was predeceased by his daughter Melissa Cnudde, nephew and godson Jamie Kissane, nephew Robban Gromaski, mother and father in laws; Alger LaForest and Helen (Mike) Byrne.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10 am from Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Kevin Maksym presiding with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. On Sunday, friends may call at the Rivertown Funeral Chapel from 2 to 8 pm. On Monday, those attending mass are asked to arrive at 9:45 a.m. and be seated for a 10 am mass following COVID-19 guidelines.
