Stanley “Stan” Buczek
Mr. Buczek, age 85, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at his home following a lingering illness, with his family by his side. He was born on July 17, 1935, in Pinconning Township to the late Ignatz & Julia (Kondol) Buczek. He married the former Barbara Deal on October 6, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on February 18, 2015. Stan was retired from Northern Tube, a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Michael Church and a member of the Pinconning K of C’s He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, farming, winemaking, and socializing with his friends and family over a beer. Stan’s greatest love was baseball, cheering on the Tigers, and Michigan State University. He was a member of the Northeastern Michigan Baseball League and was named Honoree and inducted into the 2014 NEM Hall of Fame.
Surviving are his children: Denise (Stewart) Perry, Shelley (Rex) Stout, Lori (Owen) Bush, and Steven (Lisa) Buczek; grandchildren Eric Perry, Melissa Hensley, Brandon Buczek, Rebecca Stout, Kimberly (Gregory) Peloquin, Jennifer, and Joshua Stout, Nicole Bush, Christine (Sean) Muirgaen and Amanda (Pete) Elliott, Janelle (Greg) Dannenberg, Corey (Sonja) Buczek and Dillon Buczek; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and one on the way. Also, his beloved pets Pixie, Buddy and his five chickens. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, a son Wayne Buczek, a granddaughter Rachelle Buczek and his siblings Stella, Frances, Mary, Virginia, Lottie, Ann, Walt, and Joe.
Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 11 am from Holy Trinity Parish-St. Michael Church with Rev. Fr. Kevin Maksym presiding with burial in St. Mary’s Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider Holy Trinity Parish or the McLaren Hospice Memorial Fund.
